"Through the Cave" pastel; this piece depict a view from within a cave. The bright colors and soft pastels create a wonderfully vibrant and warm image of a canyon scene beyond. Completed on large black pastel paper and finished with fixative. It comes framed in an easy on and off frame that can be reframed, if desired.

About the artist:

 

Rayne Pelham is the artist behind Grandmother Spider Design. A descendant of both the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and White Earth band of Chippewa in Minnesota. One of many proud great grandchildren of Elizabeth Bender and Henry Roe Cloud.

The design studio's name is derived from the legend behind Rayne's Ojibwe (Chippewa) name. Given when she was one, she is also, Nah quay Wa bun in nee go quay; translated she is Catches the Morning Sunrise Woman, a name given  in honor of the story of Grandmother Spider: underestimated for her size, her talent to create beauty with her detail was undeniable.
